Namibian Women’s and Children’s Rights Project

In cooperation with ABF Malmö, Ariella Percat and Fredrik Eklöf from Listeners Without Borders, conducted a pre-study in Namibia in April-May, 2015. Our aim was to lay the foundation for a project with the local CBO (Community Based Organisation) Pots of Hope, a project that the Olof Palme International Center is looking into financing.

During the pre-study, Pots of Hope, ABF Malmö and Listeners Without Borders conducted a baseline on children’s right and on gender based violence in Kamanjab. Kamanjab is a village in the rural region Kunene.

We also met with several NGOs in the capital Windhoek to gather information and investigate possible partnerships. Since the project may encounter children and women and men who have had their rights violated, we want to make sure we can have a good support and referral system in place, with for instance other NGOs.

We have gathered our daily reports on this website (see earlier dates in this blog) and on Facebook.
