This morning Amelie and Fredrik met with female activists in Voice of Afghan Women Journalists. One thing these professional journalists do: they call parents who don’t allow their daughters to start working in media after having completed their media studies, and talk to the parents about how media is not a bad place for women to work. They use themselves as good examples, how they are able to both have a career as a journalist and be a good mother.
This organization wants us to do trainings for women and men on gender issues. We said we would love that and we want to make that a part of our project in Afghanistan. It’s a very important place to do this from.
